Flat Thread Rolling Dies
Flat Thread Rolling Dies are supplied in pairs comprising of one stationary and one moving die. The stationary die is provided with a tapered lead at both ends to permit gradual forming of the thread and smooth ejection of the rolled component
Material
Flat thread rolling dies are made from High Carbon high Chromium for most normal applications. For rolling toughened high tensile fasteners High Speed Steel is used. Cryogenically treated dies can be supplied for special applications on low ductility material.
Duplex Dies
These dies are the most common type and are provided with threads on the top and bottom of the die. When one side is worn out the other side can be used.
Simplex Dies
These dies are threaded on one side only and are used on very high speed thread rolling machines and very fine pitch threads
We normally stock dies in 25.4 mm thickness but can supply dies suitable for most machines such as Waterbury, Hartford Boltmaker and other similar machines. Dies are usually supplied in ground finish. We can also supply sandblasted finish or with serrated leads on request.
